Objectives:
This N.S.W. Police Approved Firearms Training course permits a Security Officer to carry a firearm in the Cash in Transit Industry.
Course content:
A four hour classroom lecture will teach each participant the legal aspects of firearms, transportation, safe storage and the use of firearms when your life or some one else’s life is in danger. The practical component of training will assess your ability to use your weapon safely in live fire conditions.
The instructor will teach you the following:
- All aspects of Security Firearms safety
- Proper stance and grip
- Sight alignment
- Trigger control
- Accuracy
- Discipline
- Take control of a bad situation
- Manage fear and perform effectively under pressure
- Motivate yourself to take effective action
- Become aware of your surroundings
- Learn the response strategies in a volatile situation
- Legal obligations and requirements
- Students will undergo written examinations
Notes:
ALL students must produce their current Security Licence Class “A”.
Students cannot be subject to an Apprehended Violence Order (A,V.O) or Firearms Prohibition Order.
Students MUST wear enclosed footwear (no thongs or sandals) and must wear a pair of pants or jeans with a belt. It is advisable that a baseball cap also be worn.
